Meet the Making Choices Michigan team below!

Meet the team

We believe that every person should be empowered to advocate for their personal health by identifying their preferences and having them honored by their healthcare provider.

We will help you create your personal roadmap to plan for future healthcare decisions. Meet the team that will help you through this process.

Executive Director

Doug Dietzman

As Executive Director, Doug is responsible for driving MCM's operational vision. He is also the Executive Director for MCM's parent nonprofit organization, Great Lakes Health Connect. Great Lakes Health Connect is the state of Michigan's premier Health Information Exchange. When not steering both organizations, he enjoys “trodding the boards” as a member of the Drama Ministry Team at Blythefield Hills Baptist Church in Rockford, MI.

Carol F. Robinson

DNP, MS, BSN, RN, CHPN®, Community Coordinator
Dr. Robinson has had a varied nursing career in both clinical and administrative leadership positions. Her passion for the care of chronically ill patients and families led to extensive experience with patient/family communication relative to quality of life and treatment preferences. Her scholarly work has focused on communication skills for health professionals, including advance care planning conversations. Her friendly and open approach has helped many individuals create an advance directive reflective of one's own personal values, beliefs, and preferences for end-of-life care. Dr. Robinson was in the first DNP Health Systems Leadership graduating class at the GVSU-Kirkhof College of Nursing. She has since served as an Adjunct Faculty member at GVSU in the nursing program and in the post-graduate interprofessional hospice and palliative care certificate program.

Kate Meyer

Development Director
As Development Director, Kate is responsible for building and supporting relationships with MCM's donors and supporters. Kate works with individual donors, foundations, and grants to support MCM's operations and also works with employers to help integrate Advance Care Planning into their wellness and benefits programs. Outside of the office, Kate is an artist whose art can be found in various art shows around the community.

Meagan Zoodsma

Administrative Assistant
As Administrative Assistant, Meagan supports all facets of the organization while serving as the friendly face of MCM to our volunteers, participants, and partner organizations. Meagan is also a certified facilitator who loves working with participants to guide them though their Advance Care Planning journey. If not in the office, you'll find Meagan tending to her garden or advocating on Capitol Hill.
