Community volunteers and healthcare professionals can participate in evidence-based training to become a facilitator and guide people through their advance care planning conversations.
Our training is a two-part course consisting of four to six hours of online instruction and a full day of training with didactic and role play experience. Participants will learn effective communication and interview skills to empower individuals through the process of discussing, deciding, and documenting their healthcare preferences.

Respecting Choices® First Steps® ACP Facilitator Certification is designed for professionals and healthcare providers (social workers, nurses, health educators, and physicians), clergy, and others involved in providing advance care planning (ACP) facilitation. The purpose is to assist participants in learning effective communication and conversation skills for person-centered ACP facilitation.
